Off to Watch Alice.

•March 7, 2010 • Leave a Comment

The boyfriend and I watched Alice in Wonderland in 3D today, and let me tell you that for those who argue that it is better in 2D, I beg to disagree! Watching it in 3D was all worth it! :)

I've been a fan of Tim Burton's work ever since I saw Edward Scissorhands, but my favorite still remains to be Big Fish though. Going back to the movie, I was enthralled by the characters most especially by the Mad Hatter (of course, who doesn't love Johnny Depp), Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter's hydrocephalic head was just aha-mazing) and her army of cards. The cards were well-designed and well-thought of, I couldn't imagine them any other way.

So I hope everyone has seen Alice in Wonderland by now. If you can, try to read the book first. I know my boyfriend somehow feigned interest in the film, in the end he said the movie was confusing. But then again, so was the book. Alice's adventures in Wonderland were confuzzling – sometimes it didn't really make any sense at all!

But bottomline is, it still remains to be most enduring fairy tale of all time. And I hope you love Alice and reminisce about your childhood the way I do when I remember watching the very first Disney cartoon adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland", which was first released way way back in 1951 .

On another note, I think the temperature today reached 34 degrees!  Gah, it's SO hot in Manila!

Birthdays & Florals

•March 6, 2010 • 1 Comment

I really wanted to wear my floral button-down top today. It was so hot and I was invited to my friend's birthday party at the Mall of Asia. Christine was one of my dearest friends from St. Scholastica's College and she was visiting from Singapore. Must go back there..I love that city!

Floral top from BKK, Terranova black tank top, shorts from Landmark, Aldo Hibbits sandals

Don't you think our living room's so vintage? :)

I was trying to air dry it via the electic fan. The temp's too hot for blowdrying…

Micki likes to watch whenever I take pictures of myself. Check out our vintage tiles from the 1950's.

Accessories of the day: Mad Hatter necklace and tassel bracelet

Happy Birthday Bertis! We will miss you, come visit us again ;)

A List of Semi-Important Stuff To Do

•March 5, 2010 • Leave a Comment

This is a list of (not-so important) things that hopefully I can accomplish by the end of the month:

  1. Get a haircut. Or a perm or have my hair styled, rebonded, whatever. My hair's been unruly because of humidity and it's always up in a ponytail because the heat is just unbearable. Maybe a hot oil treatment will do me good.
  2. Have a facial. Funny, my Tita's a dermatologist and her clinic is about 30 minutes away from my house, but I haven't seen her in 2 months. My friends say my skin looks fine, but I'm starting to notice some uneven skintone and a little roughness. The late nights are taking its toll on me. Which leads me to…
  3. Get a Diamond peel. I need to exfoliate. Enough said.
  4. Book an appointment with my masseuse. I used to have a massage every two weeks. I don't know why I ever stopped. Maybe I forgot, or just got to busy. Whatever the reason, I need her to soothe my aching back stat!
  5. Wax. Done! I was able to wax (don't ask which body part) in only 30 minutes! Ahamazing! It's hard to wax some body parts I tell ya.
  6. Organize my makeup. I need to clear out cosmetics that I haven't used in a while, or those I have too much of. Case in point: I have 3 powder blushes, 2 mascaras, 2 compact foundations, 2 loose mineral foundation, 4 lip glosses…you get the drift. I don't have a LOT, LOT, but still these are becoming clutter.
  7. Throw out or resell clothes. I am obviously online every nanosecond, and usually to dispel boredom I end up buying dresses here and there. Some are my absolute favorites (which I will never sell), while some I've only worn once or twice, and a select few were purchased because they were literally dirt cheap. I need to make space, so off they go.
  8. Purchase a bigger terrarium. Hermies are obviously getting bored and need more space to explore. I am hoping the pet shop on SM's 3rd floor (where I originally bought their current terrarium) will reopen soon, they are still under renovation.
  9. Score some Glucosamine liquid gels. P-nut, my Chihuahua, is turning 7 on May and I need to keep him (and his joints) in tiptop shape via Glucosamine tablets/liquid gels. Must visit Bow & Wow soon.

Well that's it for now. I'll have to update my long-term goals next. Have any of you guys read or watched "The Secret"? Cos boy it sure does work! :)
